The wait is over…PowderCAST is back!

There may not be much white stuff in the High Country yet, at least the real stuff, but we are picking up a little bit of snow headed to Colorado’s mountains this weekend! This is great news, as many local ski resorts will be opening up in the coming weeks, with or without Mother Nature’s cooperation. If you aren’t aware, we offer a suite of ski forecast products powered by machine learning called PowderCAST. A slow-moving, convoluted storm will bring a lengthy period of unsettled weather to Colorado

One thing is for sure, a prolonged period of cold and unsettled weather will take hold of the Front Range Wednesday morning into Friday. A mash-up of rain, snow, and freezing drizzle will intermittently impact the area during this timeframe. Overall precipitation rates will be light, but the long duration could lead to light snow accumulations by Friday morning. In this update, we talk tumbling temperatures, rain/snow/ice timing, and potential snow accumulations.

This week in weather: July 16, 2018

Following a very chilly Sunday, it will be business-as-usual for the week ahead with the sweltering heat returning to the Metro area. The same high pressure that has been plaguing us for weeks on-end will isolate Colorado from the pool of much-needed monsoon moisture, thus limiting rainfall chances for the foreseeable future.
