The week ahead will be drier compared to recent times, but we won’t necessarily call it dry. Storm chances, though meager, will exist from Tuesday onwards, with our best shot at rain in the latter part of the week boosted by a cold front. A more unsettled pattern with increasing chances of storms will arrive for the weekend.

Another week in May, another series of slow-moving spring storm systems for Colorado! The forecast Monday through Wednesday will be cool and gloomy with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms with even the threat for small hail and locally heavy rainfall. After the one nice day of the week on Thursday, another storm will approach late in the week bringing the chance of rain again alongside somewhat cooler temperatures. This week in Colorado weather: April 26, 2021

The week begins right where it left off from the weekend with highs near 80 degrees on Monday. A deep trough approaches Tuesday into Wednesday with widespread rain showers and chilly temperatures expected. Don’t worry though, by the end of the week a large dome of high pressure will return sending highs back into the 80’s just in time for the weekend.

This week kicks off with a bang as widespread moderate to heavy snow will develop Monday afternoon and evening across the Front Range as an impressive but ultimately quick-moving Arctic cold front impacts the region. Watch out for deteriorating travel conditions Monday afternoon into Monday night. Another storm will arrive around mid-week with additional snowfall accumulations likely.
