Winter Weather Update: After days of record-shattering warmth, much colder weather & wet snow return on Friday

We hope you enjoyed the taste of summer as temperatures soared into the 70s and 80s the last several days because we will be paying for that warmth in short order as much colder temperatures and snowflakes take over the Front Range to end the week. A tricky forecast is set to unfold over the area Friday into Saturday with rain changing to wet spring snow for everyone. This Week in Colorado Weather: April 3, 2023

Following another elevated fire danger day on Monday, a late-season snowstorm will trek from the Rockies into the Dakotas in the coming days. While the brunt of this massive winter storm will be felt in the Mountains and well to our north in Wyoming, there are enough ingredients coming together to bring light snow to the Front Range during this time as well. Another chance of snow may develop on Wednesday. Unseasonably cold temperatures will transition back above normal by week’s end with a warm and dry outlook shaping up for much of the extended.

Winter Weather Update: Another chance snow moves in Sunday evening into Monday, but uncertainty abounds

Despite persistent and exceptionally cold weather, March has under-delivered on snow thus far with less than 2″ falling in Boulder since late February. More snow and cold is on the way Sunday night into Monday, but once again it looks to be another meager showing of snow. As of writing, uncertainty remains regarding exactly what will transpire with this event as a band of heavy snow may develop early Monday somewhere across the northern Front Range.
