This week in Colorado weather: June 13, 2022

The ongoing heatwave will last through Monday with near-record high temperatures expected once again. A welcomed cold front Monday night will offer a reprieve from the heat for a couple days, but the sizzling temperatures return in full-force later in the week. We’ll largely be dry the entire week ahead. However, signs are pointing towards a surge of subtropical moisture during the upcoming weekend into the Four Corners region. We are watching a potential storm around the Friday timeframe. Once again it looks to offer wind and elevated fire danger, but sadly little in the way of precipitation. Read on for our full outlook of the weather week ahead.

This week in Colorado weather: April 18, 2022

The last month has been very dry across the Denver Metro area with the progress we’ve made this year towards eradicating the drought starting to reverse. Wind and high fire danger have been rampant of late and that isn’t going to change this week, though it won’t be nearly as bad as recent times. Temperatures will be up and down through the days ahead, but prospects for any precipitation remain woefully slim.

March 2022 Graphical Weather Review: An active month that ultimately ended with below normal precipitation

Though the weather pattern remained fairly active and snowy, March 2022 broke the short streak of months with above average precipitation in Boulder. The NCAR Fire, which sparked on the 26th, somewhat curbed the community’s positivity about the improving drought situation since the New Year. Here’s a quick and colorful graphical recap of our weather during March and how it relates to climatology.
