This Week in Colorado Weather: October 3, 2022

The first full week of October will feature a few cold frontal passages, one in the beginning and another toward the end. Both will be accompanied by the chance of rain showers and below normal temperatures. In between these two systems, drier weather and near seasonal conditions will be the norm under weak ridging aloft. Sorry folks! This Week in Colorado Weather: September 19, 2022

Get ready — we’ll have shades of both summer and fall this week! An anomalous ridge of high pressure over the southern Great Plains will lead to a dry and hot first few days. However, a strong storm system out West and its attendant cold front will bring well below normal temperatures and rain showers Wednesday into Thursday, our first taste autumn perhaps. The late-week period will turn more seasonal for Colorado. Read on for all the details.

This Week in Colorado Weather: September 12, 2022

After setting multiple record high temperatures during the heatwave last week followed by a pleasantly cooler weekend, this week our temperatures will stay mostly above normal with some chances for rain mixed in as the remnants of Hurricane Kay pass across the Rockies. The week will end warm and mostly dry with that same trend continuing through the upcoming weekend. Let’s take a look at the weather week ahead for the Front Range.

June 2022 Graphical Weather Review: A month largely devoid of rainfall despite an early start to the monsoon

June 2022 began soggy and snowy across the Front Range with a sizable precipitation event getting us off to a good start on the first of the month. This week in Colorado weather: June 13, 2022

The ongoing heatwave will last through Monday with near-record high temperatures expected once again. A welcomed cold front Monday night will offer a reprieve from the heat for a couple days, but the sizzling temperatures return in full-force later in the week. We’ll largely be dry the entire week ahead. However, signs are pointing towards a surge of subtropical moisture during the upcoming weekend into the Four Corners region. This will bring the chance of late-day thunderstorms back into the Front Range.

May 2022 Graphical Weather Review: A damaging late-season snowstorm AND copius 80-degree days

May 2022 began by continuing the dry trend of the months prior, but thankfully was capped off with two soaking precipitation events across the Front Range. The damaging snowstorm May 20th to 21st was one of the biggest ever in Boulder for so late in the season. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there were also 14 days of 80-degree weather during the month — a number way above normal.
