This week in Colorado weather: May 30, 2022

The weather this week remains cool and unsettled as we transition from May into the month of June. Memorial Day will be cool and gusty, but at least it will be dry for any outdoor plans including the Bolder Boulder. We are watching a widespread upslope rain event Tuesday into Wednesday which will be cold enough to produce some late-season snow in the Foothills. Late week we warm back up with daily chances for late-day thunderstorms. Read on for our full forecast outlook of the week ahead.

This week in Colorado weather: May 23, 2022

The week starts off unsettled, cloudy, and chilly as a series of mid-level systems keep the Front Range in a persistent upslope flow. Showers, and at times, thundershowers, will be isolated to scattered over the Plains and Foothills through Tuesday. Temperatures may get cold enough for some flakes to fall in the Foothills. Drier conditions with temperatures rising into the 80s and 90s take hold by late week.

The week ahead will have a little bit of everything across the Front Range! Thursday will be flirting with near-record heat alongside critical fire danger. And finally, by Friday there may very well be snowflakes flying across the area as a late-season cold storm arrives. This will definitely be an interesting weather week in Colorado! Read on for all the details.

Elevated fire conditions will be in place nearly every day this week, though the most dangerous conditions will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with strong winds and warm/dry conditions across the Front Range. Above normal temperatures will be around throughout the week, with potential record highs shaping up for Wednesday. The week remains dry overall, although there will be some light Mountain snow at the beginning and latter part of the week — certainly not enough to please the skiers. Much needed precipitation is the main story for the week across Colorado! There are two systems of note that will bring beneficial rainfall and Mountain snow to the region, with the second system a little less certain than the first already ongoing on this Monday. With the precipitation chances, temperatures will largely be below seasonal normals, coolest on Monday, with even a few snowflakes possibly mixing in at times. The forecast turns drier and much warmer to close out the week. Read on for the full details.

This week in Colorado weather: April 25, 2022

Much-needed light rain and snow showers fell across the area on Sunday, the first precipitation many of us have seen in over two weeks. The period ahead will unfortunately not continue that trend with mostly dry conditions and above normal temperatures expected to close out the month of April. We are watching a potential storm around the Friday timeframe. Once again it looks to offer wind and elevated fire danger, but sadly little in the way of precipitation. Read on for our full outlook of the weather week ahead.

A strong storm system in the Pacific Northwest will intensify as it moves into the upper Great Plains and into Minnesota by midweek. This system will create periods of gusty winds, fire weather concerns, and frequent temperature swings for the Front Range, as well as heavy snowfall for the High Country. The same system may bring a few rain/snow showers Tuesday into Wednesday to the Denver Metro area, but these won’t amount to much. Read on for more details.
