The weather this week in the Front Range will have two contrasting primary themes. A heat dome cooking beneath a large ridge of high pressure off to our southwest will push temperatures towards record highs Monday and Tuesday. However, the rest of the week will exhibit a cooling trend with increasing chances for late-day thunderstorms as several backdoor cold fronts team up with increasing monsoonal moisture. Yes, the famed monsoon season is about to commence! In typical fashion though, there will also be a risk of some severe weather mixed in. This Week in Colorado Weather: July 10, 2023

Get ready for summer! A largely hot and dry forecast will be in the cards this week as an anomalous ridge of high pressure develops to our south pumping in air from the Deserts. There will be a few chances for isolated storms, with the best chance coming towards week’s end as a frontal system tries to make its way into the area from the north. After a hot and dry Monday, the rest of the week ahead will see cooler and stormy conditions unfold across the Front Range, the the focus centered on another damaging hail outbreak on the Fourth of July holiday. This last full week of June will feature hot temperatures to start followed by a cooldown late-week along with increasing chances of showers and storms. Ridging will largely be in place early on, but an approaching low pressure system and cold front will return us to more unsettled conditions by week’s end. This Week in Colorado Weather: June 12, 2023

We’ve got a stormy start to the week with continued cool temperatures and a risk of hail and flash flooding from slow-moving thunderstorms. Our rain chances will lessen toward the tail end of the week as a mid-level system exits and leaves behind a ridge pattern. June has begun exceptionally wet across the Front Range and that trend will live on this week with continued cool and rainy weather expected throughout the extended forecast. This Week in Colorado Weather: May 29, 2023

The month of May will end with several days of highs in the 80s. This warmth will be felt largely into midweek as ridging extends into the Front Range area.
