2023 began with a mixbag of wintry precipitation across the Front Range. While snow totals were generally on the light side, the mix in of freezing fog and freezing drizzle made things interesting. Let’s take a look at snowfall totals across the region.

Shown below is our snowfall forecast map issued Monday evening with actual storm totals overlaid. Green values indicate that our forecast verified to within one inch of the observed snowfall total. Red numbers did not. Overall, most places ended up near to the lower end of our forecast ranges. There were just a few trouble spots west of the Continental Divide which really got skunked from this event. Denver officially reported 1.3″ of snow at DIA, while Boulder recorded 1.6″ officially.
