This week in Colorado weather: August 10, 2020

After a welcomed cooler start to the week, it will be all about the 90’s through Friday as hot and dry west-southwest flow entrenches across the entire Four Corners region, including Colorado. We are watching a slight resurgence of moisture for the latter part of the week related to Hurricane Elida, but even still, storm coverage is expected to remain isolated at best. The monsoon is all but history at this point.

This week in Colorado weather: August 3, 2020

Even with the monsoon on possibly permanent pause, storm chances will continue through the week with large hail and damaging winds a concern as well. We need the rain as portions of the Metro area are now experiencing severe drought. Late in the week, winds shift and drier air will work into Colorado from the southwest leading to reduced storm chances. We discuss this and more in our weekly outlook.

We continue the cool, monsoonal stretch with 80’s for the majority of the week. We are watching a weak system to affect northeast Colorado through Thursday, bringing our best chance of storms on Tuesday. Will the 90’s rear their ugly head for the first weekend in August? This week in Colorado weather: July 20, 2020

It’s been a brutally hot and dry month of July thus far. The monsoon is yet to materialize for the southwestern United States, but it won’t stop rain chances from increasing this week across the Front Range due to an influx of subtropical and even tropical moisture. Temperatures will remain rather warm, but not quite as hot as the last few weeks. Let’s take a “big picture” look at the week ahead.

This week in Colorado weather: June 29, 2020

A deep area of low pressure to our northwest brings in a cold front Tuesday, lowering highs into the from the 90’s into the 70’s. Outside of a few meager storm chances, most of the week will be rather dry for the area. However, we are tracking an increase in moisture to reach the area late in the week as temperatures climb back into the 90’s.
