This Week in Colorado Weather: January 16, 2023

A major winter storm set to impact the Front Range Tuesday night through Wednesday. The heaviest snowfall will likely be focused east of Interstate 25 where up to 10″ could fall, with lesser amounts in Boulder and the Foothills. Another chance of light snow on Friday will round out a rather cold overall week for the Denver Metro area. This Week in Colorado Weather: January 9, 2023

Following a weekend of quiet weather, the week ahead will continue that trend of near normal temperatures under downslope flow — at least for a few more days. The Mountains will see two waves of snowfall Monday through Wednesday with more than a foot expected in some ranges and ski resorts. As for the Plains, a midweek system will produce a period of light snowfall as well, but only with low-end accumulations expected alongside cooler temperatures.

This Week in Colorado Weather: December 26, 2022

Following a mild but technically “white” Christmas on Sunday, the week starts off quiet with a nice warm-up planned for Tuesday into the 60s. A southern-track system will bring heavy snow to the Mountains Tuesday night into Thursday, along with a good snow chance for the Metro area Wednesday night as well. Following a cold front, the week will conclude with seasonal temperatures.

This Week in Colorado Weather: December 19, 2022

A doozy of a forecast will unfold this week as extremely cold Arctic air overtakes the Front Range late on Wednesday accompanied by a quick shot of fluffy snowfall. However, the main story will be the bitter cold with wind chills dropping to dangerous levels for an extended period. This may be the coldest air to reach our area in decades. We discuss the timing of the powerful front, just how cold it will get and give our early thoughts on potential snowfall accumulations.

This Week in Colorado Weather: December 11, 2022 (Updated)

A strong and slow-moving winter storm takes aim on Colorado late Monday night and through Tuesday. The system will bring snowfall, gusty winds, and colder temperatures to the Front Range. The greatest impacts will be felt east of the Denver Metro where blizzard conditions will exist over northeast Colorado. After a mild day to start our week on Monday, below normal temperatures in the 30s will persist through the rest of the week, with perhaps an intrusion of Arctic air in the extended outlook. After a largely quiet and long Thanksgiving weekend, things get going quickly this week with widespread accumulating snow developing across the Front Range late Monday night into Tuesday alongside much colder conditions. It will be a rather quiet Thanksgiving week overall with dry conditions and temperatures remaining near or slightly below normal through Thursday. Beyond the holiday, a strong ridge will build into the area with warmer weather on the way for Black Friday. No precipitation is expected this week outside of light snow in the Mountains.
