Following a weekend of pleasant weather across the lower elevations and heavy snow in the Mountains, northwest flow will linger this week leading to temperatures remaining on the cool side.

Wolf Creek ski area opened for the season this past weekend, the first resort in Colorado to do so. Of course, no one from the Front Range drives all the way down there to ski do they? The first week of October will be busy as a series of systems trek through the state from the southwest. The first will be the remnants of Hurricane Rosa. The second will be a quick-moving cut-off system. These will lead to the chance of showers and a few thundershowers through the week. We’re also tracking unsettled weather for the weekend with both rain and snow for the state of Colorado.
The Pineapple Express was back at it again this past weekend. Another round of soaking rain struck California, with all that tropical moisture translating into heavy mountain snow across northern Colorado.
