His hometown received nearly three feet of snow from the Storm of the Century back in March of 1993, sparking his initial interest in impactful weather. This week’s “heatwave” nabbed a few records in Boulder

🥵 Two record highs on Tuesday (Apr 11) and Wednesday (Apr 12), with the latter dating back more than 115 years!

🌡️ Tuesday was the 2nd earliest occurrence of middle 80s for the city, only beat out by April 7 1988 which was 86°

🔥 Tied record warmest minimum on Wednesday  at 50°F (tied 1916)

🏜️ Almost a guarantee to set another record warm minimum for Thursday (Apr 13) unless we drop below 52°F before 6PM…

 

This Week in Colorado Weather: April 10, 2023

This first major heatwave of 2023 will unfold this week across the Front Range as a broad ridge of high pressure produces bountiful sunshine and an influx of warm air from the southwest to Colorado. Multiple days of record high temperatures are expected as most of us soar into the 80s. However, late week a big cooldown is taking shape with rain/snow likely returning on Friday.
