Big weather changes this weekend as autumn arrives!

We’ve really been spoiled of late in regards to weather! Only a few raindrops have fallen in the last six weeks, with temperatures remaining warmer than normal on all but a handful of days. This changes on Saturday as a deep trough plows into the region, kicking the unending ridge of high pressure eastward. Cool and unsettled weather will linger well into next week. We’re also monitoring the potential for the first significant snowfall in the Mountains. We have a lot to discuss!

This week in weather: September 5, 2017

The week ahead starts off feeling like autumn thanks to yesterday’s cold frontal passage. We are rather quiet for the most part with only a slight chance of storms late in the week as temperatures moderate back into the 80’s. More details can be found within, including when we expect the wildfire smoke to exit the region.

We also provide thoughts on Category 5 Hurricane Irma which could be making landfall in Florida this weekend.
