This week in weather: November 28, 2016

The Mountains are finally beginning to actually accumulate snow! With an active weather pattern on tap for the week ahead, we’ll see this trend continue. For the lower elevations, we’re expecting downslope to greatly limit any chances of precipitation this week, but several surges of cold air will keep our temperatures quite chilly. A nice warm-up occurred over the weekend following our first snow late last week. The forecast for Thanksgiving week will feature a series of low pressure systems tracking from west to east across Colorado, leading to a moderate dumping of snowfall in the High Country…great news for all you skiers! This week in weather: October 24, 2016

We’ve had quite an unbelievable stretch of weather the past several weeks. However, the bad news is that there hasn’t been any rain in a long time. In fact, Boulder County is once again under a fire ban. We really could use rain or snow, but this week will unfortunately not bring any respite from the dry spell. Our recent warm stretch is more typical of mid-September than mid-October, but it’s really hard to complain.
