Great conditions for skiing will continue this week, as well as an active pattern for snow on the Plains. The focus for the week ahead will be a fast-moving system Wednesday, which will usher in below normal temperatures and little bit of white stuff. The week ahead: February 22-26, 2016

After a mild weekend, we return to winter starting this evening as an upper-level shortwave dives southeast bringing snowfall to Boulder, the adjacent Foothills, and Denver. After the snow moves out early Tuesday, temperatures moderate with sunshine and low 50’s to round out the week. How much snow is on tap? Read on to find out!

The week ahead: February 8-12, 2016

Congratulations to the World Champion Denver Broncos! Weather was definitely not a factor during the game, which is how the NFL’s championship should be played! Let the better team win without any of Mother Nature’s shenanigans.

On that note, that beautiful California weather will spread east to include Colorado this week. We really couldn’t have hand-picked two consecutive, polar-opposite weeks of weather if we tried. Just seven days ago, we were in winter weather forecast mode, with more than a foot of snow knocking on the door. The week ahead: December 21-25, 2015

This week will feature a series of snow events across the High Country, with several ski resorts likely accumulating more than a foot of snow by midweek.  This is all thanks to a large Pacific jet stream tracking into the western United States.
