We couldn’t have asked for a better Halloween weekend, with partly sunny skies skies and temperatures in the upper 60’s and low 70’s. We review October’s weather, and look ahead to an unsettled weather pattern for the week ahead. We may have dodged a bullet last week with regards to the season’s first snow; however, it doesn’t appear we will be quite as fortunate this go-round!

Through October 18th, Boulder is sitting nearly 10 degrees above normal for the month of October. This week will aim to change that trend, with a drastic cool down and the return of precipitation to the region.
October is here and with that comes snow-making across the Colorado ski resorts! With overnight temperatures now dropping below freezing, Copper, Loveland, and A-Basin are making the white stuff as we speak. Following a warm weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 80’s across the Plains, this week will feature slightly cooler but still above average temperatures for the middle of October. A series of cold fronts will be the main storyline, along with the subsequent effect they will have on high temperatures. The weather has been quite cool and gloomy across the Front Range the last few days. Saturday’s thunderstorms gave parts of Boulder County their most significant precipitation in nearly three months.
