This week in weather: November 7, 2016

There is little weather to speak of for this first full-week of November with a ridge of high pressure over Colorado maintaining itself. There will be lots of sunshine and temperatures once again above normal…something which has been the story for much of our fall. One thing of note is a potential cold front late in the week, although it will likely not prevent us from remaining warmer than normal for this time of year. Read on for our full outlook of the week ahead.

This week in weather: October 31, 2016

Lots to talk about this week, but nonetheless, not much changes compared to our recent weather trends. This week will feature a couple cold fronts and a weak system which may bring a few light rain/snow showers to the region. Ultimately, though, the continued storyline for the Front Range is very limited moisture, above normal temperatures, and worsening fire conditions. This week in weather: October 24, 2016

We’ve had quite an unbelievable stretch of weather the past several weeks. However, the bad news is that there hasn’t been any rain in a long time. In fact, Boulder County is once again under a fire ban. We really could use rain or snow, but this week will unfortunately not bring any respite from the dry spell. This first half of the week will focus on a weak shortwave and mountain snow, with the latter week featuring warmer weather and a potential cold front. Read on for our full forecast.

This week in weather: October 17, 2016

Our recent warm stretch is more typical of mid-September than mid-October, but it’s really hard to complain. Under the influence of an expansive ridge of high pressure, temperatures have exceeded 80 degrees each of the last four days, with several close-calls for record highs in many Front Range cities. For the week ahead, we’ll see a brief cool down and spurts of Mountain snow, but revert to boring summer-like weather before the weekend. This week in weather: October 3, 2016

After two straight weeks of mostly sunny and warm conditions, the week ahead will feature quintessential Colorado fall weather. With the passage of two cold fronts, we’ll transition from the 80’s early in the week, through wind, rain and cold…to the potential for snowflakes by week’s end. This week in weather: September 26, 2016

After a cool and “autumn-like” weekend, this week will feature milder temperatures and lots of sunshine, at least through midweek. A fly in the ointment will be a weak system approaching from Baja California which will increase clouds and lead to the chance of isolated rain or storms late in the week. These should be confined mainly to the mountainous areas, however. Read on for our full weekly forecast to end the month of September!

This week in weather: September 19, 2016

Dry weather has prevailed across northeast Colorado for the last several days, with temperatures moderating from the 60’s to near 90 degrees. This trend continues through much of this week’s forecast as a flat upper-ridge dominates our weather. However, the team-up of a potent trough and the remnants of Tropical Storm Paine will bring chances for rain just in time for the weekend. Read on for our complete weekly forecast.
