In typical May fashion, a rather unsettled week lies ahead with chances of rain and thick clouds expected nearly every day. Temperatures start out chilly on Monday but will moderate back closer to normal the rest of the week despite continued wet weather.

Temperatures this week will be hover right around normal for early May. We are watching a few cold fronts, especially one late in the work week, that will trend us cooler for the upcoming weekend. The last piece of the puzzle, precipitation, will be rather scarce this week.

Our weather this week could easily be mistaken for that of early June as a prominent ridge of high pressure engulfs the entire western United States, including Colorado. There is a good chance that many Front Range cities will set a slew of new daily record high temperatures later this week, and potentially even challenge all-time monthly record highs for April. This week in Colorado weather: April 20, 2020

Last week will be a tough act to follow as Boulder received more than three feet of snow and soared to a new seasonal snowfall record. While it won’t be quite as active this time around, there are a few notable weather features to watch out for. Look for generally warmer temperatures into the 60’s for much of the week. A few chances of rain will also be sprinkled into the outlook, mainly Tuesday and Thursday. And the best news? No snow!

Easter Sunday’s BOOMING snow totals, another round of light snow on Monday, and the chilly/snowy week ahead

Around a foot and a half of fluffy snow fell in Boulder for Easter, while many areas saw much less. We take a look at snow totals from around the region. We also discuss our next wave of snow coming Monday afternoon into the evening, as well as the outlook for the rest of the week (spoiler: there will be more snow). Let’s get to it!

This week in Colorado weather: April 6, 2020

Temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above average will be the norm to start the first full week of April. Beyond this, we’re watching for a cool-down come Wednesday, along with a chance of unsettled weather for Thursday. A gradual chillier pattern looks to develop for the upcoming weekend.

A wide range of weather and temperatures are expected this week as spring and winter continue to mingle. We’ll warm-up nicely through Wednesday into the 60’s, but another round of snowfall is taking aim on the Front Range for Thursday.
