Born and raised in St. Louis, Andrew obtained a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Colorado in 2015. From 2015 to 2020, he worked remotely in Boulder as an atmospheric scientist with NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory in Miami. Andy is now a full-time meteorologist.

This Week in Colorado Weather: June 26, 2023

This last full week of June will feature hot temperatures to start followed by a cooldown late-week along with increasing chances of showers and storms. Ridging will largely be in place early on, but an approaching low pressure system and cold front will return us to more unsettled conditions by week’s end. This Week in Colorado Weather: June 12, 2023

We’ve got a stormy start to the week with continued cool temperatures and a risk of hail and flash flooding from slow-moving thunderstorms. Our rain chances will lessen toward the tail end of the week as a mid-level system exits and leaves behind a ridge pattern. On the wildfire front, smoke from fires in western Canada should stay to our north keeping air quality good here in the Front Range. Read on for more details.
