Born and raised in St. Louis, Andrew obtained a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Colorado in 2015. From 2015 to 2020, he worked remotely in Boulder as an atmospheric scientist with NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory in Miami. Andy is now a full-time meteorologist.

A rather benign period overall is headed our way with high pressure in place through most of the upcoming week. However, we will need to be on the lookout for thunderstorms toward the latter part of the week with the return of monsoonal moisture. Prior to that, heat will be the story. This week in weather: July 3, 2017

It’s hard to believe that the first week of July is already upon us. Soon we will be talking about the arrival of the summer monsoon. For now though, heat will be the story much of this week, with a few if any storms to speak of.
